Sew Crafty Saturday: Beatles Party Tomorrow

The Beatles party is tomorrow and as I'm typing this I can hear the sweet sounds of four Daddies practicing for it in our garage. We are so blessed to have friends who will dedicate their time and talents to make our little girl's party be the party of her dreams. She is beyond excited and can't wait to sing into the microphone.

In preparation of the Beatles party, we have had a drum kit set up in our living room all week. You know you're jealous!

Misc. Monday: Name Wall Art

We finally put Hendricks' name up on his wall, and I definitely think it was worth the wait. I ordered his name from Pick your Plum. It is very masculine and is even burnt around the edges. I knew I wanted to hang it from a branch or twig, but was unsure where to get one and how to apply it to the wall. This is where Dan came to the rescue. He found the branch on our avocado tree in the backyard, and hung it from the ceiling with fishing line and attached it to the wall with Earthquake putty. It's hard to tell, but the branch appears to be coming out of the wall. The room is now complete. You can see how his foxy nursery came along by visiting here and here and here.

Sew Crafty Saturday: Beatles Party Prep

Iris has been planning her Beatles party since November when we went to her cousin's "Olivia" party. She called them the "Ya-Yas" back then because of the song, "She Loves You... Ya Ya Ya." Now that she is a whole four months older, she refers to them as the Beatles and she & Lilly know more song lyrics than I do! Dan made the adorable invitations and has been practicing the set for a few weeks now. The concert should be awesome, the food should be fun, and the dancing should be out of this world. We can't wait!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: A Little Peek

Maxin & Relaxin...

 Really wanting sushi...

Twist & shouting...

I'm feeling a bit out of touch, not getting enough sleep,
surrounded by little ones all day,
and loving every minute of it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Giddy Up Quilt

My very talented Aunt Cheryl from Minnesota made Hendricks the most amazing quilt. It's just gorgeous. I'm already planning on using it on his twin bed when the time comes. Her fabric choices were just perfect and his name is quilted along one edge. It's so special. Thank you, Aunt Cheryl! We love it.

Fab Finds Friday: Bel Bambini

What is Bel Bambini you ask? It is a new, super fun baby store located in Costa Mesa. About a month ago, I was invited to go to an event they held for local bloggers. They had a fashion show with tiny models, yummy snacks, crafts for the kiddos, and awesome giveaways! The store is simply beautiful and quite large. There are many different nurseries set up in the store and the upstairs is filled with the most beautiful children's apparel. They have all the latest gadgets and trends a new mommy might want to try, as well as many tried and true products.
Next weekend, they are hosting what looks like will be an equally amazing open house. There will be story time, giveaways, crafts, a photographer, balloon art, and 10% off your entire purchase. It will be March 24 & 25 from 10am - 7pm. They are located at 1800 Newport Blvd. Let me know if you are interested and maybe we can go together!

Hendricks will be two weeks old tomorrow. Can you believe it? I think we all feel like our little family is now complete. There's a whole lotta love going around in this house!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Block Family

Dan is working on a guitar build in the garage, so I often send the girls outside to play while he putters away with his fancy table saw. The other day, Lilly came in with this awesome craft project that he set her up with. Dan made her five wooden blocks and told her to draw a member of our family on each one. She drew Daddy on a skateboard, Mommy in an apron,  herself in a princess dress, Iris dancing to Beatle music, and Hendricks with a baseball cap on. She also put everyone's first initial and a small picture on the back. What she drew is just amazing, in my humble mommy opinion. I don't save everything that gets made around here, but these blocks are going nowhere!
