Wee-Ones Wednesday: Little Sales Girl

We began our adventure in girl scout cookie sales this weekend. Lilly couldn't wait to sell cookies to our neighbors, and practiced what she was going to say about 5x before we left the house. She was nervous, tentatively knocked on doors, and read her speech (name and all) from a clipboard for the first few houses. As time went on, her confidence grew, the clipboard was put in the wagon, and she was her charming, silly self.

Misc. Monday: Snow Comes to Fullerton

Dan and I try to take the kiddos on special dates, one at a time. They seem to talk with us more and are far less distracted by one another. It's so fun to listen to them, laugh with them, and just be close to them separately. A few weeks ago, Lilly and I went to Daisy Days for Girl Scouts, and this weekend, Iris and I went to "snow day" with some of her sweet, little girlfriends. Both events ended with a trip to Yogurtland, and couldn't have been more special!

Misc. Monday: 3286 Days!

Dan and I celebrated 9 years of marriage with our kids on Thursday with kisses, balloons, and a vey pink cake. I decorated Dan's sink, and plan to write little messages to him throughout the year. (right now, it says "I love you because you emptied the dishwasher")The girls made sweet cards, and sang love songs to us. We didn't exchange big gifts, but went out to dinner at Great Maple in Fashion Island a few days later. It was perfect.
Next year, we plan on ditching our little crew and going on a mini vacation. Only 361 days left!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Another First

Lilly had her first sleepover with my best friend's daughter, Maddie. I don't think I would have let her stay overnight anywhere else, but she was ready, even if I wasn't. I'm told they had a blast, watched a movie, played Uno, giggled, and talked into the wee hours of the night. The next day, Lilly drew a picture of her first sleepover in our journal and told me how much fun she had. I'm sure there will be more to come... growing up is so hard on a mommy.

Misc. Monday: Hello, 2014!

Ringing in 2014 was a blast! Throughout the day, I moved our clocks forward and eventually they ended up in the East Coast timezone. We had 4 couples and their kiddos over and celebrated family style with face painting, fruit loop necklaces, frog races, noise makers, yummy snacks, nighttime swing set play, and a backyard fire pit. As midnight came (9pm), we hooted, hollered, kissed, and said good night. Hope your New Year's Eve was super fun too!
