Wee-Ones Wednesday: Easy Bandana Dress

I can't reveal what Iris and Henry will be wearing to their cowgirl and cowboy party, but I had to share the bandana dress I made Lilly yesterday.  I picked up a new pink tee-shirt on sale, cut 2 bandanas in half and sewed them to the bottom of the tee-shirt. When Lilly got home from school and tried it on, we realized it was a bit too long, so I cut the shirt right above the skirt and reattached it. Iris said, "Ooooh, I love the ruffle!" and I have to agree with her.

Sew Crafty Saturday: Cowboy & Cowgirl Birthday Party Prep

Iris and Henry were both born in March, so we are having a joint birthday party for them to celebrate. There are many themes that would have worked, but I've always loved the idea of a vintage cowboy party, especially after watching this old Disney cartoon. Check it out. My kids love it, and the house is filled with the best furniture. Here's some of the things I'm working on:

I designed the invitation myself using the website picmonkey
and free western fonts I downloaded.

I ordered the boot piƱata from Oriental Trading Co. only to get it in the mail and have everyone in my house tell me how small it is, so I bought a bigger one and figure the little kid can smash the boot, and the bigger kids can smack the badge. The pie tins will be used to pan for gold.

It's not a party if there aren't personalized water bottles.

Photo props just had to include ginger haired mustaches!

There will be bandana buntings everywhere.

...and so much more to do!!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: San Diego

My fabulous birthday weekend continued in San Diego. Hendricks was still on antibiotics for an ear infection and was not getting any better. About half way through our first day at Sea World, after trying to enjoy himself, Henry just couldn't keep up anymore. I carried him around, asleep for the rest of the day. The night was not much better. His fever was not going anywhere, but he was a real trooper. We ventured over to the Cabrillo National Monument. It was just beautiful. The reflector in the light house was breathtaking. Henry slept through the entire visit in the Ergobaby again, and the silly girls thought it would only be fair for Daddy to carry them around! I made Henry an appointment to go back to the doctor's the next day, and he is now being treated for pneumonia. Poor sweet baby!

Best Birthday Ever!!

Turning 38 was my best birthday yet! I couldn't help feeling special with Facebook friends saying "Happy Birthday" all day long. I was spoiled with perfume, jewelry, gloves, shoes, home goods, $$, balloons, flowers, and so much more. My family surprised me with a birthday dinner after church, and my sweet hubby whisked the five of us away for a weekend in San Diego, hiring a house cleaner so I could come home to a spotless house!! Can you say best husband ever??

Sew Crafty Saturday: Love Is In The Air

Valentine's Day has always been one of our favorites. Every year, Dan buys me red roses, and gives one to each girl. He says they need to remember that their first flowers came from their Daddy. And every year, We have a scavenger hunt, searching for small gifts. This year was so much fun because Hendricks could keep up, only a few steps behind! We finished the night with a take and bake heart pizza. Hope you had a special day! xoxoxoxox

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Boy Update

Can I just tell you how happy I am we decided to have this little guy? I could not imagine our lives without him! He is nuts, and full of energy, but I wouldn't give him back. He doesn't say much, gives the best hugs, is an awesome cuddler, and has great dance moves. Actually, I am really mad at him right now because he is turning 2 in less than a month. Where does the time go?
