The Big 40!

My sweet husband turned 40 in the midst of the Christmas chaos. His birthday fell on a Friday, and my mom brought over donut holes to celebrate before we all went off to work and school. That night, we talked about how much we love Daddy and ate his favorite BBQ. He was loved and celebrated, but not enough in my book. My 40th comes in February and I think we need to have an huge adults only party. He's not convinced, but I still have a few more months to talk him into it.
Happy birthday, my love. You are by far my favorite person on this planet!

The Poloar Express

The Polar Express in Williams was amazing! To say the kids were excited and grateful is an understatement. It was truly magical once we stepped on that train. We were given cookies and cocoa, our chefs sang and danced,  and they read a giant version of the book. When we reached the North Pole, Iris burst into tears! She was so overwhelmed. Santa boarded the train next, and handed out silver bells, just like in the story. After he said good-bye, we sang Christmas carols from a song book they provided and the children danced in the aisles. It was definitely a once and a life time experience that none of us will ever forget!

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is simply amazing! To call it a natural wonder is an understatement. It is truly breathtaking to see God's glory through his beautiful creations. "Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God." George Washington Carver
This quote spoke volumes to me while we were there. It was very emotional to behold such beauty while being with the most important people in my life. My heart was overwhelmingly full.
